Clearwater Police Chief Refutes False Claims of Immigration Raids at Public Events

Clearwater Police Chief Eric Gandy was informed earlier today of a viral video falsely claiming that the City of Clearwater and the St. Petersburg Police Department are going to collaborate with immigration agents to conduct raids targeting the Hispanic community at public events.

These rumors, which rapidly circulated on social media, created widespread panic and concern among immigrant communities in both Clearwater and St. Petersburg.

In response, the organization UNIMEX met with Chief Gandy this afternoon to directly discuss and address these claims. This meeting initiates the official summary of responses to rumors about an alleged ICE operation targeting the Hispanic community in the Pinellas/St. Pete/Clearwater area.

Clearwater Police Department, Chief of Police Eric Gandy and St. Petersburg Police Department, Chief of Police Anthony Holloway have confirmed that the circulating content/video has no validity whatsoever and is false.
